Believe it or not, there are plenty of things that could go wrong on the day of your wedding. No, I’m not here to scare you! Many brides go through a series of jitters, panic and paranoia and it is perfectly normal. All you have to do is ensure steps are taken to minimize stress and nerves. And here’s how you can do it.
1. Lay Everything Out the Day Before
One of the best things to avoid stress is to lay all the things you need on the day of your wedding the day before. Put them out on a huge table with nothing else but the things you need to prepare for your wedding. Make sure to mark this spot as “Bride’s Only” so that nothing goes missing or gets misplaced. This way, you do not have to worry about having to finding or forgetting things.
2. Talk to Your Partner
If you sleep in separate rooms the night before and do not plan to see each other until the ceremony (first look), ease your nerves by talking on the phone or sending each other messages. Keep things fun and casual – tell each other how the both of you feel on the day of your wedding and hopefully this can help calm you and your partner down.
3. Wake up Early
Another good way to escape the stress and the rush of the wedding is to wake up an hour or two earlier before you need to get ready. Have some food, go for a walk, talk to family members or just lie on your bed for a while. Waking up earlier can help you to take as much time you need to mentally and physically prepare yourself for the big day.
4. Do Some Light Exercise
Relieve a bit of pressure by doing some light indoor or outdoor exercises such as yoga, skipping and dancing. Just make sure you do not injure yourself!
5. Put Up a Day-of Checklist & Timeline
To ensure you have everything covered, print out your day-of checklist and timeline and place it where everyone (wedding party) can see it. This help to ensure nothing goes missing and everything runs as smoothly as possible.
6. Delegate Everything Day-Of
Delegate someone in your bridal party, or a close family member or friend you trust to take your place to ensure everything runs as planned. Putting your trust in that person allows you to full soak in every moment of your wedding day. Better yet, hire a day-of wedding coordinator (or a wedding planner) to handle all the details.
